PCD tools show significantly
longer service life

product overview

Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) is produced by sintering diamond grains and binder material, Cobalt, together under high pressure and temperature creating a matrix with uniform high hardness. The high hardness allows the tool for machining at very high speeds with minimal tool degradation. PCD tools lasts 20-50 times longer than uncoated tungsten carbide tools, which decreases downtime due to fewer tool changes. PCD also has great thermal conductivity removing heat away from the cutting edge and increasing lubrication for better chip flow and evacuation. The tool can be resharpened easily by Electrical Discharge Machines (EDM) due to its high electrical conductivity.
